Whew… we’ve been busy, friends — the good kind of busy that fills your heart and your creative tank!
Three quilt shows in three weeks… and what a whirlwind it’s been. We’ve loved every minute — visiting with longtime quilting friends, meeting new ones, seeing your beautiful projects, and sharing the joy that makes this quilting community so special. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shared stories, and supported Material Girlfriends. You always make the long hours worth it. 💕

Studio and Warehouse Spring Cleaning
Behind the scenes… it’s a season of refreshing and reorganizing.
I’ve been hard at work de-cluttering and decorating my sewing studio in preparation for the upcoming Sewing Room Home Tour. Below is how you can create SPACE in your sewing area too!
At the same time, we’re diving into a full spring clean of the warehouse. Kits, patterns, and bundles — oh my! It’s a big job, but it always feels so good to start the new season organized and ready for inspiration to strike.
Creating S.P.A.C.E.
Do you need more space? Always, right? I didn’t always have a sewing room. Until recently when my honey completed the screen-room transformation, which is now my sewing room, I used to have a corner in my family room. I’ve sewn in my dining room when my sons still lived at home. I’ve sewn in my living room for years too. A dedicated sewing room isn’t always an option. Wherever you sew, you can create more SPACE for yourself by following a few of these guideline.
S — Sort
Group supplies so you can truly see what you have. Fabric by color or type, patterns together, rulers with rulers, notions with notions. Clarity begins when like items live together.
P — Purge
Release what no longer serves your quilting life. Fabric you don’t love, patterns you won’t make, tools you never reach for. Letting go creates room for creativity and calm.
A — Assign
Give everything a purposeful home. Frequently used tools within reach, fabric near the cutting table, rulers visible and accessible. When every item has a place, tidying up is effortless.
C — Clean
Refresh the space. Clear surfaces, wipe machines, vacuum lint, and straighten shelves and drawers. A clean room supports focus and joyful sewing.
E — Energize
Make the room inspiring. Display favorite quilts, add good lighting, keep a project ready to sew. Your sewing space should welcome in and invite you to create.
A sewing space isn’t about perfection. It’s about creating a space that supports your creativity.

New Pattern + Kits — Croozling
We’re thrilled to introduce our newest pattern — Croozling!
Croozling Quilt Pattern
Full 75″ x 87″ (shown on the cover), Baby/Wall 51”x 51″, Twin 51” x 87″, and King 99” x 99”
Croozling is an old Scottish word meaning “to snuggle up, nestle in, or cuddle close.” That’s exactly what this quilt invites you to do—wrap yourself in comfort, warmth, and beauty.
Our friend, Diana Garnhart, who tirelessly helps us when vending at quilt shows, designed this with me. After a long day vending, we got back to the hotel to put our feet up, and designed Croozling together. This design brings together the timeless elegance of the Irish Chain block with the striking sparkle of a Mosaic Star, creating a quilt that feels both classic, fresh, and manly. The rhythmic chain leads the eye across the quilt while the stars shimmer like constellations—perfect for cozy nights and heartfelt gifting.
Clear instructions and detailed diagrams make this design easier than it looks—perfect for creating a quilt worth snuggling into.
Kits are available, and we can’t wait to see the colorways you choose. This one is as fun to make as it is to display.
