We want to celebrate! I’ve got the menu written up; cherry crunch, apple pie, homemade ice cream, corn on the cob, watermelon, and barbequed everything. Mmmm. I can almost smell the bbq. Our neighbors have been “rehearsing” their fireworks! I still need to do a bit of decorating in red, white, and blue. We do July 4th big out this way.
Because it is almost time to celebrate our nation’s Independence Day, enjoy this FREE Independence Star Bite Size Pattern! It will be available as a free download until July 22, 2021. It’s brand star-spangled new. I just finished the instructions last night.
On July 2nd, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence, with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades, and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues.
“Oooh, say can you see? By the dawn’s early light…” I’m feeling so patriotic. Good thing you’re reading this instead of hearing me sing it. That’s song is a bit out of my range. My dog just left the room.
This is a fun holiday mini quilt to make and I’ve hung mine from a 12″ mini-quilt hanger, right by my back door. Where will you hang your Independence Star 12″ quilt? But wait! Go all out and add four blocks together to make a runner. That’s a clever decorating idea! This is what it will look like.
Independence Star Kits
Lora was busy and made kits for Independence Star, complete with fusible appliqué die-cut stars. All fabrics are exactly like the sample photo and include R06 Primo Batiks and solid Marshmallow White from Marcus Fabrics. The kits include binding but do not include backing and batting.

“What do you get if you cross a patriot with a curly haired dog?” asks Lora.
“I don’t know Lora. What do you get if you cross a patriot with a curly haired dog?”
“A Yankee-Poodle. Hahahhha. Goodnight, we’ll be here all week. Be sure to tip your waiter.”
Groan. Lora and I hope you have a very enjoyable Independence Day celebration. Enjoy the parades, the fireworks, and the Independence Star pattern.
